Access Bookboon offers high-quality, bite-sized learning resources that support continuous professional development. You can integrate this content into your LMS using deep links to streamline access and track learner engagement without adding complexity to your learning ecosystem.

Deep links are URLs that connect directly to specific content, such as an eBook, video, or playlist. When learners select a deep link in your LMS, they are taken directly to the corresponding content page in Access Bookboon.

By using deep links, you provide learners with immediate access to the exact resources they need while eliminating the need to upload or manage files within your LMS.

To do this, follow the below steps.

Add deep links to your LMS

  1. Search for the relevant content to include in your course.

  2. Right click the relevant record to expand the menu.

  3. Click Copy Link Address.

  4. Add the deep link to your LMS as a resource or external activity.

  5. (Optional) Test the link in a learner view to make sure it opens correctly and prompts the right login.

Insert the deep link as a resource in your course, either as an external activity or linked resource.

🤓 Tip: Test the link in a learner view to ensure it opens correctly and prompts the appropriate login.

Understanding how deep links work for learners

When opened, the link directs the user straight to the content, opening the exact eBook or audiobook directly, ready for immediate learning. This method offers the most efficient way to connect users with an activity for completion, providing a smooth transition from your LMS to Access Bookboon content without the need for extra setup or files.

📌 Note: If the user is not logged into Access Bookboon when clicking the link, they will be redirected to the login page (via SSO if configured, or with their Access Bookboon credentials). After logging in, the link must be clicked again to reach the intended content.

Tracking engagement

While Access Bookboon doesn't track individual user completions, it does track engagement data at organisation level to reveal trends, such as the following details.

  • Most accessed content and topics by learners.

  • Engagement patterns over time.

  • Emerging interests with learners.

If you're an administrator, you can see this in analytics.

If needed for compliance or certification, completion tracking should be handled by your LMS. To do this, it's recommended to embed content via deep links in your LMS using the method above.

There are several reasons, listed below, for why Access Bookboon doesn't track individual user completions, listed below.

  • Completion and mastery aren't mutually exclusive. Finishing content doesn’t necessarily guarantee learning.

  • Supports self-directed learning. Knowledge acquisition happens in many ways outside formal tracking.

  • Flexible and on-demand. Designed for learning when and where it’s needed.
